Romelu Lukaku, a striker for Chelsea, is a target for Paris Saint-Germain. The Belgian international has restored his spot in Thomas Tuchel’s starting lineup after confessing in a recent interview that he wished to return to Inter Milan.
Although it is assumed that Lukaku won’t be wearing a Chelsea jersey in 2022, his long-term future is still uncertain. However, El Nacional reports that the Blues might still be open to ditching the former Everton player, with PSG now on ‘red alert’ ahead of Kylian Mbappé‘s long-awaited departure.
According to the source, the attacker might be persuaded to go to the Parc des Princes if Ligue 1 leaders are willing to spend 90 million euros (£ 75.3 million) on recruiting him.
Lukaku immediately impressed Thomas Tuchel’s team, scoring four goals in his first four games. He rapidly lost his rhythm and went without a goal for a stretch of games before getting hurt against Zenit St. Petersburg, missing around a month of activity.
According to Football Insider, the French team is considering a move for his services as they want to upgrade their front line. While Neymar, Angel Di Maria, and Lionel Messi are all over 30, and Kylian Mbappe has a contract that expires at the end of the current campaign, he will probably join Real Madrid.
It is unclear if it will result in Lukaku moving, but the Belgian likes how the Ligue 1 team does business. He did little to disguise his affection for the Parc des Princes and was previously rumored to be moving there when he was a player for Everton.
He stated, “PSG is a great club, with a fantastic vision and a world-class workforce,” in an interview with GQ Magazine in 2016. However, my agent is in charge of everything.
Of course, Lukaku eventually made his way out of Goodison Park, although his final destination wasn’t quite as near as Paris. He finally agreed to a £75 million contract with Manchester United and played at Old Trafford for two seasons, scoring 42 goals in 96 games, before moving on to Inter.
Lukaku signed a contract with Chelsea that ran until the summer of 2026 after his return. With the Blues remaining in the Champions League and the FA Cup, he might yet finish the season as a multiple prize winner.
