Borussia Dortmund is prepared to make every effort to keep Erling Haaland. According to Christian Falk, head of football for the German newspaper Bild, Dortmund is considering a large cash offer to persuade Haaland to stay at Dortmund for at least the remainder of 2023. The Norwegian would receive a pay boost under this new agreement, going from €8 million to €15 million ($17.3 million), nearly doubling.
Additionally, Dortmund wants to persuade Haaland to partner with Puma once his contract with Nike expires on January 1, 2022. Puma, which sponsors the German club’s uniforms, is also ready to support the endeavor financially.
According to reports, Borussia Dortmund is putting together a club-record cash package to convince Erling Braut Haaland to sign on with the team next summer. One of the most in-demand attackers in football, the 21-year-old is being courted by teams like Manchester City, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and Real Madrid.
When Dortmund’s £ 64 million buyout clause goes into effect in the summer of 2022, they will have a tough time keeping their top scorer. Bild claims that BVB is attempting to make Haaland a club-record contract offer to persuade him to remain at Signal Iduna Park.
According to the source, Dortmund is willing to quadruple the Norwegian’s pay to about £ 260,000 per week and include a bonus from Dortmund’s sponsors Puma worth up to £ 6.7 million in the financial package. The ultimate decision on Haaland’s future will be made at the end of February after negotiations between representatives of Dortmund, the forward’s father, former Manchester City player Alf-Inge Haaland, and his agent, Mino Raiola, start in the new year.
Haaland has been in spectacular goal-scoring form this season again, tallying 19 goals in only 16 appearances for BVB across all competitions.
